What each integration does

Every integration is turned on from Settings, under Integrations, with a short setup guide on the same screen.

  • Shopify

A sync button in Inventory pulls the latest items from your Shopify shop and updates or creates them in SpotsPOS.

  • Square

Create the sale in SpotsPOS and take the payment through Square, including Square Terminals.

  • Mailchimp and Constant Contact

New customers are added to the mailing list you choose, ready for your automated campaigns.

  • Google Calendar

Every new appointment you book in SpotsPOS becomes an event on your Google Calendar.

  • Twilio

Text customers from your own Twilio number, including the message that a repair is ready for pickup.

  • AKKO

Offer AKKO device protection at checkout when the sale is eligible, and see each customer's coverages.

Why POS integrations matter for a small shop

Every time someone copies a customer from the POS into a mailing list, or types an appointment into a calendar by hand, something gets missed. Integrations remove that copying. SpotsPOS connects to the services small shops already pay for, and each one does one clear job.

You set them up in Settings, under Integrations. Each screen tells you what you need from the other service (usually an API key, a list ID or a merchant ID) and has a Setup Help guide that walks you through finding it.

Inventory: Shopify

If you also sell online with Shopify, turn on the Shopify integration with your Shopify store name, password and API key. A sync button then appears in your inventory section. Tap it to pull the latest items from your Shopify shop and update existing items or create new ones in SpotsPOS. You keep one product catalog instead of retyping it. Learn more about inventory management.

Payments: Square

Already using Square to take cards? With the Square integration on, you create the sale in SpotsPOS and send it to Square to take the payment, including on Square Terminals. Square needs the Square app installed and signed in on the same device. If you would rather keep payments inside SpotsPOS, payment processing is built in too.

Marketing: Mailchimp and Constant Contact

Both work the same way. Create an audience (a list) in Mailchimp or Constant Contact, copy the API key and the list ID into SpotsPOS, and turn it on. From then on, every new customer record is added to that list automatically. You build the campaigns in your email tool; SpotsPOS keeps the list growing.

Appointments: Google Calendar

With a Google API key in place, SpotsPOS creates a Google Calendar event for each new appointment created in the app. Your team sees drop-offs on the calendar they already check on their phone. See appointments for how booking works.

Text messages: Twilio

If you have your own Twilio account, add its phone number and SSID and SpotsPOS sends your shop's text messages through it. When a repair is marked ready for pickup, the customer can get a text along with the notification. You can also message a customer directly from the app. Customer notifications covers the messages you can send.

Device protection: AKKO

With your AKKO merchant ID entered, SpotsPOS shows the AKKO coverage option at checkout when the sale is eligible. Coverage added at the counter shows up on the customer's profile under AKKO Coverages.

Automation: Zapier, Make and webhooks

Webhooks are the way to connect SpotsPOS to anything else. A webhook sends data to another app the moment something happens, with no manual export. SpotsPOS has three:

  • Repair webhook: sends the repair the moment it is created.
  • Sale webhook: sends the sale the moment it is created.
  • End of Day webhook: sends the end of day summary and its sales the moment the register is closed.

Paste a URL from Zapier, Make or your own server, and SpotsPOS posts the data there. You can add an optional secret so your server can check the request came from your shop, and the documentation link on the same screen describes what is sent. A shop might use the sale webhook to log every sale in a spreadsheet, or the end of day webhook to send the day's totals to the bookkeeper.

How to connect an integration

  1. Open Settings

Go to Settings, then Integrations, and pick the service you want to connect.

  2. Get your keys

Tap Setup Help to see what the service needs, such as an API key and list ID, and where to find them.

  3. Paste and enable

Paste the details into the fields, turn the integration on and tap Update.

  4. Use it as you work

New customers, appointments, sales and repairs now reach the other service without anyone copying them.

Send your data anywhere with a webhook

Repair, sale and end of day webhooks post your data to Zapier, Make or your own server the moment it happens. Add a secret if your server checks one.

  • Repair created, sale created, register closed
  • Works with Zapier, Make or your own server
  • Optional secret on every webhook

Questions about integrations

Does SpotsPOS integrate with Shopify?

Yes. Turn on the Shopify integration with your store name, password and API key, and a sync button appears in Inventory. It pulls your latest Shopify items and updates or creates them in SpotsPOS.

Can I use Square with SpotsPOS?

Yes. With the Square integration on, you create the sale in SpotsPOS and take the payment through Square, including Square Terminals. The Square app needs to be installed and signed in on the same device.

How do I add my POS customers to Mailchimp automatically?

Create an audience in Mailchimp, copy the API key and list ID into the Mailchimp integration in SpotsPOS, and turn it on. Every new customer record is then added to that list. Constant Contact works the same way.

Can I connect SpotsPOS to Zapier?

Yes. Paste a Zapier webhook URL into the repair or sale webhook and SpotsPOS sends the data as soon as a repair or sale is created. The end of day webhook does the same when the register closes.
