Small jobs fast, valuable pieces on record.

A watch and jewelry counter mixes walk-in jobs done while the customer waits with pieces that stay for weeks. SpotsPOS Repair keeps both straight.

  • Batteries in one tap

Save battery replacement, link removal and strap changes as Quick Repairs with their parts and price. The ticket and the sale take seconds, and the battery comes off your stock.

  • Photos of every piece

Add up to 10 photos at take-in: the stones, the scratches on the case, the engraving, the clasp. If there is ever a question, the answer is on the ticket.

  • Signed take-in

The customer signs your terms and conditions on the screen. Print the ticket with its QR code and hand them a copy to bring back at pickup.

  • Bench time on long jobs

Bill overhauls and restoration through labor groups with an hourly rate. The watchmaker logs time on the ticket, so the bill matches the work.

  • Parts and special orders

Order the crystal, crown or clasp for a specific piece, add the tracking number and follow it until it arrives. The repair waits in Awaiting Parts.

  • Serial numbers when there is one

Record the serial number of a watch, scan it if it has a barcode, and search by it later. For rings and chains with no serial number, the field is simply left empty.

Buying gold and pre-owned watches, on record.

When you buy from the public, the paperwork matters. A buyback in SpotsPOS can require the seller's ID type and number, photos of the front and back of the ID (stored privately, visible only to your staff), a signature on a seller agreement in your own wording, and an employee PIN. A hold period keeps bought pieces off the sales floor until it ends. Learn more about buybacks.

  • A bill of sale with the seller's signature
  • A warning when the seller is under 18
  • Offers by hand, or from a price list per model

A watch service, from take-in to pickup

  1. Take it in

Choose Watch, the brand, the model and the service. Record the serial number and add photos of the dial, the case and the bracelet.

  2. Record the condition and sign

Note what works and what does not, add the customer's description and have them sign your terms. Print the ticket for them.

  3. Quote it

After you open the case, add parts and labor and send the estimate. The status reads Waiting on customer until they approve, then take a deposit.

  4. Bench work

Order the parts you do not stock, move the job to Awaiting Parts and log bench time as the watchmaker works.

  5. Pickup and warranty

Mark it Repaired and notify the customer by text or email. Collect the balance and set a warranty period of up to a year.

Watch and jewelry repair software that fits your counter

Your services, in your words

SpotsPOS does not force a phone shop's catalog on you. Create your own device types, such as Watch, Ring, Chain and Bracelet, and your own services: battery replacement, ring sizing, chain solder, prong retipping, clasp replacement, crystal replacement, cleaning and polishing. Link the parts each repair type uses, from batteries to findings, and the price and stock follow every ticket.

Pieces that are never picked up

Every jewelry counter has a drawer of finished repairs nobody came back for. Ask your shop lists the repairs that have been ready for more than a set number of days and drafts a pickup reminder for each customer, which you check before sending. If a balance is still open, Remind Payment sends that too. Read about customer notifications.

Selling over the counter

Watches, straps, batteries and jewelry are sold from the same inventory and the same checkout as repairs. Mark higher value items as serialized so each one carries its own serial number. For bigger purchases, a layaway lets the customer pay weekly, every two weeks or monthly, with your own layaway terms.

Secondhand rules and the hold period

Many areas have rules for buying secondhand gold and watches. SpotsPOS does not decide them for you, but it lets you record what they ask for: the seller's ID, the photos, the signature and a hold period in days before a bought item can be sold. The bill of sale prints with a reference number for your records.

Comebacks

If a watch comes back after a service, the ticket shows the warranty remaining. Submit For Warranty reopens the job with a reason and optional photos, and the history shows everything done the first time.

Questions watch and jewelry shops ask

Can I use SpotsPOS for jewelry repairs that have no serial number?

Yes. The serial number is optional on a repair. Describe the piece in the device name and notes, and add photos so it is easy to identify at pickup.

How do I document a customer's ring or watch at drop-off?

Add up to 10 photos and notes to the ticket, record the serial number if there is one, and have the customer sign your terms on the screen. You can print the ticket for the customer to keep.

Can I bill a watch overhaul by the hour?

Yes. Create a labor group with your hourly rate and link it to the service. The watchmaker starts and completes a time log on the ticket, and the time is part of the bill.

Can I sell watches and jewelry on layaway?

Yes. Layaway is included in every plan. Choose the items, the payment frequency and the due date, and SpotsPOS tracks what is paid and what is owed. See pricing.

Does SpotsPOS work for buying gold and pre-owned watches?

It keeps the record your area may require: the seller's ID and photos, a signed agreement, a bill of sale and a hold period before resale. You enter each offer by hand, or set up a price list for the watch models you buy most often.
